About Ben Pittman Knives
Ben Pittman's handmade cutlery are all one of a kind pieces. Each begins as a simple bar of steel and is then forged into a blade. With handle material ranging from elegant wood to fossilized mammoth ivory, every knife takes on a personality of it own. Ben specializes in the ancient art of making Damascus steel, which makes up many of his blades. This process involves stacking, heating and folding different types of steel to create striking patterns within the steel itself.
